SAN FRANCISCO—The Bay Area’s beloved floral fundraiser, Bouquets to Art, returns this June for its 38th year, inviting those with long-stemmed interests to visit the de Young. For one week only, experience the blossoms in conversation with the de Young’s permanent collection designed by more than 100 of the Bay Area’s most innovative and sought-after floral designers. Perennials and portraits will converge, showcasing dazzling bouquets inspired by the museum’s paintings, sculptures, objects, and architecture. Completely virtual in 2020, and with limited capacity in 2021, Bouquets to Art 2022 will be fully on-site at the de Young. In the museum’s Wilsey Court, visitors will be greeted by a dazzling, bespoke large-scale aerial piece called The Three Dragons, beautifully knotted together by local artist Windy Chien. The Three Dragons will hang in dialogue with Hung Liu’s large piece Resident Alien and will have floral elements incorporated to resemble a dragon’s fiery breath.

This weeklong event launches on Monday, June 6, with an opening-night party. Patrons will have the opportunity to get an early look at the arrangements while also enjoying culinary delights from McCalls Catering and Events and floral fashions designed by students from City College of San Francisco. While the galleries are in bloom, the de Young will host a series of stylish luncheons, lectures, and programs by renowned floral experts from around the world, in addition to an on-site raffle for luxury goods and experiences. Be the first to see the newly created and impressive floral designs, enjoy food and drinks prepared by McCalls Catering & Events, and view the stunning floral fashions created by City College of San Francisco floristry students. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious Sosie Wines at the opening night event, based out of Sonoma. Advance tickets required.

Luxury-Prize Benefit Raffle
Purchasing tickets for the benefit raffle is another way to support the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Prizes include bespoke luxury trips to Italy, Healdsburg, and Carmel; fabulous dining and behind-the-scenes cultural experiences about town; and VIP access to upcoming Fine Arts Museums events. Tickets can be purchased on-site during Bouquets to Art week at the raffle desk in Wilsey Court or outside the main entrance. The raffle drawing will be held at the de Young on Sunday, June 12 at 2 pm; winners need not be present. Raffle tickets are $20 each or $100 for six.

Visiting
Bouquets to Art is June 7–12 at the de Young museum. Members-only viewing hours are available Wednesday–Thursday, June 8–9, 6–9 pm, and photography-free hours take place Thursday, June 9, 3:30–5 pm, and Friday, June 10, 9:30 am–noon.

Ticketing
For adults, timed tickets are $35 and include admission to Bouquets to Art and Alice Neel: People Come First. Special tickets are required for luncheons, programs, and the Bouquets to Art Opening Night. Prices are subject to change; more information is available at deyoungmuseum.org.

About the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco
The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, comprising the de Young in Golden Gate Park and the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park, are the largest public arts institution in San Francisco.

The de Young originated from the 1894 California Midwinter International Exposition in Golden Gate Park and was established as the Memorial Museum in 1895. It was later renamed in honor of Michael H. de Young, who spearheaded its creation. The present copper-clad landmark building, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, opened in October 2005. It holds the institution’s significant collections of American painting, sculpture, and decorative arts from the 17th to the 21st centuries; art from Africa, Oceania, and the Americas; costume and textile arts; and international modern and contemporary art.
