Siège de la Société des Aqua-fortistes (Headquarters of the Etching Society)
Not on view
Besides serving as the headquarters for the French etching society, Alfred Cadart's gallery on rue de Richelieu showed paintings by contemporary artists. It was in Cadart's window that Manet first exhibited his seascape The Battle of the U.S.S. "Kearsarge" and the C.S.S. "Alabama" (1864) now in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
