Spring/Summer 1993
Not on view
For her Spring/Summer 1993 Grand Hotel collection, Vivienne Westwood envisioned a diverse group of well-dressed people passing through a South American hotel in the 1950s. The collection was especially notable for its experimental mixing of historical styles, including 1950s silhouettes with cinched waists, tailored blazers, and full skirts, and denim decorated with eighteenth-century-style prints. The ensembles also included precarious ten-inch-high heels. This leather pair was embossed to look like python scales.
