Self-Portrait Drawing at a Window
1648
Not on view
Rembrandt made more self-portraits than any of his contemporaries, in the form of drawings, etchings, and paintings. Unlike the fancy plumed hat that he wore in his 1636 etched self-portrait with Saskia, informal work clothes are worn by the middle-aged Rembrandt in this portrayal.
