1610
Not on view
In 1610, in The Hague, Hendrick Hondius the Elder published a series of portraits that included artists of the past, such as the German Renaissance painter-engraver Heinrich Aldegrever, as well as contemporary artists such as Michiel van Mierevelt, who operated a large and active portrait studio in Delft. The latter is shown holding a portrait of Maurits van Nassau, the stadtholder of the United Provinces and Hondius's most important patron.
