Flask
This flask bears the Latin inscription Vivat America, or "Long Live America," and is decorated with a rabbit walking with a cane. The phrase likely refers to the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783), during which the thirteen North American colonies gained independence from Great Britain. Another flask, of the same era and likely by the same manufacturer, also references the revolution: it bears a moon and sun, symbols of the British Empire receding into darkness as the United States emerges at the dawn of a new era.
