Evening dresses by Lady Duff Gordon, known professionally as Lucile, are distinctive for their vibrant-colored sheer, luminous metallic textiles, and historicized silhouettes with asymmetrical trimmings. This dress epitomizes the Lucile aesthetic. The full skirt is exaggerated at the sides to evoke eighteenth-century undergarments(panniers), and handmade silk flowers wrap around the body to offer a sense of movement.
