Confetti
Not on view
Toulouse-Lautrec received the commission for this poster from J. & E. Bella, a paper manufacturer in London that produced specialty items such as paper banners and confetti. Paper confetti was a new invention, taking the place of rice, flower petals, leaves, and bits of plaster, which were at various times thrown over the bride and groom at the conclusion of wedding ceremonies.
