July 25, 2016 Statement regarding recent press:
The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco wishes to correct a statement made by a staffer concerning the future leadership of the Museums. That statement in turn led to the publication of an inaccurate article in the July 25, 2016 edition of the San Francisco Chronicle. Ms. Diane Wilsey remains the President and CEO of the Fine Arts Museums and continues to be greatly valued by the Board and its new director for her contributions and leadership.
"The Board is responsible for the protection and conservation of the assets of the Fine Arts Museums and for setting the public course the Museums will follow. The Board shall assure that the Museums are open, accessible and vital contributors to the cultural life of the City and County, and that the Museums' programs bring art appreciation and education to all the people of the City and County."
