de Youngsters Day Out
de Youngsters Day Out is an annual, all-day event with hands-on art making activities, entertainment by community partners, and workshops and presentations by local contemporary artists interpreting our collection, with activities both inside and outside the museum.
de Youngsters Day Out 2024 welcomed over 5,370 families to the de Young and raised $450,000. Proceeds from de Youngsters Day Out support our Equity School Partnership Project with the San Francisco Unified School District. The project provides support for in-classroom instruction, art supplies, and transportation for students who do not typically visit the de Young or Legion of Honor, as well as for museum partnerships with community-based organizations serving students who are Black, Indigenous, or people of color.
