About the performers
Meres-Sia Gabriel, an Oakland native, is the best-selling author of I Twirl in the Smoke and the founder of the writer-coaching program Life-Changing Writing. She loves performing, teaching, and dreaming.
Michael James, born and raised in Philadelphia, is a professional musician, multi-instrumentalist (saxophone, flute, vibraphone, and percussion), author, and lecturer. He explores jazz from 1950 to today.
