During your visit to the de Young, stop by the Koret Auditorium to watch our two short films produced in conjunction with the Kehinde Wiley and Ansel Adams exhibitions.

Exploring the life and work of artist Kehinde Wiley, “How Kehinde Wiley Is Reshaping the Monumental” takes viewers on a journey from Wiley’s upbringing in South Central Los Angeles to his ascent as one of the world’s most iconic visual artists. This film features interviews with the artist, his twin brother Taiwo Wiley, and his close friend and fellow artist Mickalene Thomas.

Featuring archival footage of Ansel Adams, as well as interviews with Berkeley-based photographer Richard Misrach and FAMSF curator Lauren Palmor, “Ansel Adams + Richard Misrach: Exploring Legacies” examines the impact of Ansel Adams’s prolific photography in the Bay Area and beyond.
