Join us for a beading workshop with artist Demetri Broxton inspired by the beadwork in Lhola Amira: Facing the Future. This class will introduce you to the beaded backstitch, the most common technique used for bead embroidery. Using a variety of seed beads, you will create your own beaded patch. We will explore the power of color to add dimension, meaning, and mood to artwork. No prior experience is required. This is an excellent class for beginners as well as more advanced embroiderers who want to push their practice to the next level.

See Broxton’s work in Crafting Radicality: Bay Area Artists from the Svane Gift, on view July 22 through December 31, 2023.
