Corset
1947-1959
Not on view
In 1947, Christian Dior reintroduced the wasp-waist silhouette with his New Look collection, which emphasized a fitted bodice, and small waist, often worn with a full skirt. Many corsets like this example are found sewn into the linings of his gowns.
