Artist Wendy MacNaughton is taking over our Sketching in the Galleries program! Pick up your pencil and mini DrawTogether sketchbook and join this artist-inspired drawing activity for all ages. Follow the prompts in the sketchbook to explore some of Wendy MacNaughton’s favorite artworks throughout the museum!
- Mini sketchbooks are available for pick-up at Gallery 16, Gallery 26, and Piazzoni Murals Room.
- Sketching carts with art materials are available in Gallery 16 and Gallery 26.
- Participants can sketch in Gallery 10, 13, 16, 26, 40, and the base of the Hamon Tower as part of this drawing activity.
We offer family fun every Saturday of the year, including Sketching in the Galleries on select Saturdays in different locations throughout the museum.
About the artist
MacNaughton (aka WendyMac) is a local Bay Area award-winning artist, graphic journalist, and educator. Her work is based in the practices of drawing, social work, and storytelling. She has authored and drawn two books, How to Say Goodbye and Meanwhile in San Francisco, as well as illustrated many more including the #1 New York Times bestseller Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. She is the creator and host of both DrawTogether, an educational drawing program for kids, and The Grown-Ups Table, an online publication that provides weekly drawing lessons, assignments, and community.
