Enjoy storytelling through poetry inspired by the Lhola Amira: Facing the Future and Kehinde Wiley: An Archaeology of Silence exhibitions. 

Similar to Lhola Amira’s Philisa, Meres-Sia Gabriel’s poems are portals for finding comfort and courage.

This program is part of a three-part series led by Meres-Sia Gabriel inspired by the art of Lhola Amira and Kehinde Wiley.

Series dates: April 15, May 27, June 17.

May and June performances include music by Howard Wiley.

About the performers

Meres-Sia Gabriel, an Oakland native, is the best-selling author of I Twirl in the Smoke and the founder of the writer-coaching program Life-Changing Writing. She loves performing, teaching, and dreaming.
