Get inspired by the artwork of Matisse’s Jazz Unbound and create your own colorful collage. In this activity, led by senior teaching artist Hitoshi Shigeta, a pair of scissors becomes a tool for transforming colored paper into a world of plants, animals, figures, and shapes. Experiment with color and contrast. Play with positive and negative spaces. Have fun “drawing with scissors.”

Join Family Art Making year-round as we explore other artists’ work, typically once a month!
