The TAPHOS project helps to preserve cultural heritage through the excavation of partly looted and unlooted chamber tombs at the Mycenaean Late Bronze Age cemetery of Aidonia in southern Corinthia. This collaboration with the Corinthian Ephorate of Antiquities has yielded significant data. The speaker will discuss the site heritage and the understanding of the long-term mortuary, cultic, and settlement practices of the Corinthia.
About the speaker
Kim Shelton, Director, Nemea Center for Classical Archaeology; Professor, Department of Ancient Greek and Roman Studies; Director, Ancient History and Mediterranean Archaeology, University of California, Berkeley
