Join us for a members-only preview of KLIMT & RODIN: An Artistic Encounter, the first exhibition in San Francisco to assemble works by Gustav Klimt, the great fin-de-siècle Austrian master of Modernism. Approximately 20 paintings and numerous works on paper by Klimt will be presented alongside the Legion’s acclaimed collection of sculptures by Auguste Rodin.

Join us for a members-only preview of Gods in Color: Polychromy in the Ancient World. You’ll enjoy an astonishing look at Classical sculpture in their original vibrant colors, questioning the perception of an all-white "classical" ideal. Ancient sculpture and architecture from Greece and Rome will be revealed as intended—garishly colorful, richly ornamented, and full of life—along with original sculpture from the Near East, Egypt, Greece, and Rome.

Indulge in Impressionist masterpieces before the crowds descend. Enjoy a tour with our expert docents and learn how high-fashion millinery fascinated and influenced Degas, Renoir and others. Featuring over 40 paintings, pastels, and exquisite examples of hats from the period, the exhibition opens a vivid window into turn of the century Paris.

Be among the first to preview Sarah Lucas: Good Muse, the latest contemporary exhibition at the Legion of Honor. Join us for an after hours sneak peek of the exhibition before doors officially open to the public on Saturday, July 15. The galleries will be open until 8:45 pm and refreshments provided at a cash bar. Lucas’ friend and keyboardist Andrew Hale of legendary UK-band, Sade, will provide tunes courtesy of the Legion's famed organ.

Join us for a members-only preview of Sarah Lucas: Good MuseSarah Lucas has gained notoriety for creating sculptures and installations that showcase the innate crudeness of stereotypical conceptions of gender and sexuality. In conjunction with Auguste Rodin: The Centenary Installation, the Legion of Honor has invited Lucas to bring a contemporary perspective to our understanding and appreciation of Rodin.

Marking the centenary of Auguste Rodin’s death in 1917, the exhibition Auguste Rodin: The Centenary Installation presents a significant opportunity to examine Rodin, “the father of modern sculpture,” through the Legion of Honor’s fine collection of sculpture by Rodin cast during his lifetime.
