Experience the first major reassessment of James Tissot’s career in over 20 years at James Tissot: Fashion & Faith with your family before the museum opens to the public. Members at the Family level and above are welcome to attend this morning event.

James Tissot (1836–1902) was one of the most celebrated French artists during the 19th century, yet he is less known than many of his friends and colleagues today. Presenting new research on Tissot's artwork, technique, and remarkable life, this exhibition provides a refreshed look at the artist through a 21st-century lens. Co-organized by the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and the Musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie, Paris, this exhibition will include approximately 60 paintings in addition to drawings, prints, photographs, and cloisonné enamels, demonstrating the wide range of James Tissot's creative skills and interests. You and your family will get a jump start at the galleries and exclusive insights during Member Morning. We'll have docents in the galleries sharing fun facts and answering your burning questions, an activity sheet exploring Tissot's visual techniques for young visitors during their gallery exploration, curatorial accompaniment on demand via the audio guide, and, of course, refreshing coffee, tea, or hot cocoa in the Museum Cafe.
