Art in the Summer for Kids at the de Young
This summer, make your kid an artist—join us for art camp at the de Young Museum!
The de Young presents the second edition of Art in the Summer, June 20–August 12 for children entering kindergarten to fifth grade. This year, the program offers a broader selection of activities. Children are invited to participate in a full day of art classes running Monday–Friday from 9 am–3 pm with an optional open studio from 3–5:30 pm. Children are divided into three groups according to grade level.
In addition to weekly thematic activities taught by professional artist-teachers in the Hamon Tower studio classrooms, campers will explore the de Young’s galleries and visit selected sites in Golden Gate Park. The developed themes cover traditional fine art techniques and craft making such as mask making, storytelling, kinetics and much more. Each session allows campers to build their creative skills with a diversity of art media in a stimulating environment.
Discounts are available for FAMSF members and parents enrolling more than one child. Check the de Young’s website for pricing details or to register online.
