Crispijn de Passe the Younger's Garden of Flowers first appeared in Latin, Dutch, French, and English editions. The book includes illustrations of flowers, bulbs, and roots accompanied by textual descriptions of the various species, divided into four seasons. Many of the plant species were exotic and expensive imports, such as the Peruvian sunflowers and several varieties of tulips. The letters 'E. H.' inscribed in ink on the impressions shown here are the initials of a collector.
