Textile fragment
ca. 1925
Not on view
This fragment is representative of the designer Mariano Fortuny's furnishing line. While Fortuny chose light silks and lush velvets for clothing, he preferred cotton for his furnishing fabrics. Using a stencil, Fortuny imitated the uneven shimmer of worn textiles to give his fabrics an antique look.
