Portrait of Camille Renaud
1915-1940
Artwork Viewer
Active in Paris, Camille Renault or Renaud was a restorer of renown and patron of many artists who was portrayed by Lhote in a painting presented at the Salon d'Automne of 1944 (no. 822 as "Big Boy restaurateur ou Portrait de Camille Renault"). The drawing was possibly executed before the painting's first public display, as it reflects the strong Cubist aesthetic of Lhote's earlier work of the 1920s.Â
