Owned by San Francisco philanthropist, socialite and founder of the Legion of Honor Alma de Bretteville Spreckels, this guestbook contains well wishes and signatures by a fascinating cross-section of 20th century luminaries, including Marie, Queen of Romania, Beatriz, infanta of Spain, Henriette, Duchess of Vendome and Princess of Belgium, George, Prince of Wales (and future King George VI), and his wife Princess Elizabeth, General Joseph Joffre, Auguste Rodin, astronomer Camille Flammarion, Salvador Dali', Frank Lloyd Wright and others.
