This large print by Julie Mehretu is an example of the complex and innovative printmaking that continues to be done at Crown Point Press, founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1962. It is one of three large etchings from a series titled Heavy Weather, the artist's response to the furious storm and resulting destruction and chaos wrought by hurricane Katrina in parts of Louisiana and Mississippi in 2005.
