This double-sided drawing with figure studies forms part of a relatively large series of drawings characterized by rather hesitant contours and random, incoherent washes. First published by Knox im 1970 as work by Lorenzo Tiepolo, Gian Domenico's son, the work has been later recognized by Morassi as by Menescardi in light of parallels with the (few) known painted works by this disciple of Tiepolo. (see Bernard Aikema, Tiepolo and His Circle, 1996, p. 254).Â
