Download our unique free app called Voices: FAMSF from your favorite app store.

Voices: FAMSF is an immersive soundscape that weaves multiple voices together with a musical soundtrack. The app offer responses to 21 outdoor sculptures and architectural details at both the de Young and the Legion of Honor.  Museum curators and other experts provide the audio interpretations, and museum visitors are encouraged to add their responses to the works of art by recording their own voices on the app. The soundscape can be personalized: users can listen to the voices of art professionals, of inquisitive and observant museum visitors, or a mix of both. This combination of voices continues the Museums’ tradition of encouraging art exploration as a conversation, not a lecture.

The app can be downloaded onto any mobile device with GPS. We encourage you to download it at home, bring it with you on future museum visits, and record your own responses. We look forward to hearing you in the mix!

Voices: FAMSF was developed using Roundware in partnership with Earprint Productions and Halsey Burgund.
